The Crabs
The Portland, Oregon-based indie pop duo the Crabs comprised singer/guitarist Jonn Lunsford and singer/drummer Lisa Jackson. After a pair of EPs, Dreamboat and Sore, issued on the Knw-Yr-Own label (owned by Lunsford's brother Bret, himself a founding member of Beat Happening as well as the frontman of D+), the Crabs signed to K Records to issue their 1995 LP, Jackpot. Brainwashed followed a year later, and in the wake of 1997's What Were Flames Now Smoulder the group's lineup expanded to include keyboardist Sarah Dougher. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
