The Hawthorne Fog
When I first met the Hawthorne Fog, it was at one of their legendary concerts. I slipped backstage amongst all of the adoring fans and met with their manager, Mr. Ellis. I told him that they were amazing and that I'd like to travel with them to see just what it's like to be one of the Fog. Man, I wasn't disappointed. After living with the Fog for three and a half weeks, I realized what they were all about: bringing great music to the masses at a reasonable price. Not to mention that they are taking the lead in the counter-crappy music movement. First, I found out how it all began. "Īt all started when we decided to form a band," says Kirby. "After that, we were a band." As for the name, the Hawthorne Fog chose their name over candidates such as Jetlag and Nick Druzhinin and his Back Up Band. After jamming for about a year, the Fog realized that what they were playing was 70's crap. Not to mention, they were were playing heavy rock songs lead by an incompetant trombone. I asked Kirby how they decided to transition into a blues/latin/jazz band. "Well, we said, let's turn into a blues/latin/jazz band." After a while, Mitchell assumed his role as the band leader and wrote hit tracks such as Ticket to Nowhere and the Train Song (along with some inspiration from Ian). I asked Graham about his role in the band: "****** ****** ***** ***** **** *********." (By the way, Graham is a session player and his opinions don't matter, hence the censoring). This biography is dedicated to Kirby, who tragically (but awsomely) exploded on stage.
