My New Favourite Album

I must admit that when I ordered this album I wasn't expecting much. When I first listened to it sounded like a big mess but after the second listen I realised just how brilliant it is. JSwift's production is loose, funky and sometimes jazzy. It is perfect for the Pharcyde's playful raps. Playful is a huge understatement. They seem like they're pulling of some unbelievable freestyling. From the hilarious "Oh Shit!" and "Ya Mama" to the ultimate party banger "Soul Flower" and the suprisingly touching "Passin Me By" the Pharcyde are out of this world. Every single track on this album is so good you will never even be tempted to skip a single one. Althought it is evident on the album that the Pharcyde are from the ghetto they dispell the common myth that every young black male from the "hood" carries a gun and sells crack and more importantly they show just how fun hip hop can be.
