henrynhenry's Album Review for Game Theory

Another great one from the Roots.
I've come to expect great things from the Roots, and this album is no different. The Roots are one of those artists that seem to always consider the album as a whole, a consideration that usually serves to help the work. It does, as this is one of the best releases of 2006.
After a brief intro, the album kicks off with "False Media", setting the political/social tone of the album, a tone that will sit until it ends 45 minutes later. Musically, the album is incredible, exploring jazz, soul, and rock in some parts, keeping the grooves dense and layered.
One thing that makes the Roots so great is that they are a band. They all work together to make great tracks, great albums. It's not just the beats, it's not just the bass, it's not just the rhymes, it's a collective effort. One that succeeds, again and again.
