Unknown Quantity
Unknown Quantity is the sonic chemistry lab-based centrifuge-like recording project, created by Steve Peckman. Along the path of planned recordings, a host of musical elements will be recorded, spindled and mutilated into a fine mash of sound. UQ's first release (Q1 '07) is entitled "Realism is What", and celebrates and features one particular instrument; a Radio Shack copy of a Moog Rogue, named the Realistic Concertmate MG-1, circa 1982. In time for its 25th Birthday, the MG-1's propensity as a great "noisemaker" has never been stronger, especially wrung through some 21st century effects.
