Vashti (US) - Unbound Soul
Vashti (pronounced “Vash-tie”) is one of What Da Word Say Records© newest Gospel/Neo-Soul recording artists. She is an anointed psalmist from Greenville, South Carolina. Her name is Hebrew in origin and means “beautiful queen,” and that she definitely is. She is gifted with a sultry, Neo-Soul sounding voice that resonates rhythms from heaven. Vashti has been singing since the age of 5. As a young girl, she toured with her father and grandfather who sang in a gospel quartet, and sang with her brothers as The Lewers Trio. She has sung on various church choirs and praise teams during her youth and young adult life, and has performed at the Peace Center, Bi-Lo Center, Clemson University, Anderson College, WGGS-Channel 16, and many other places in the Greenville and surrounding area. She has ministered with Tell The Truth Outreach Ministries©, a marriage and relationship counseling ministry, in Greer, South Carolina where Dr. H. Alan Bailey, Sr. is Senior Pastor, and has ministered, in sign language, during praise and worship services at Redemption World Outreach Center in Greenville, South Carolina where Apostle Ron Carpenter, Jr. is Senior Pastor. She now ministers with her husband, Minister Carlos Stephens, at CJ Stephen Ministry & Resources in Greer, South Carolina. “You can feel the presence of Jesus as soon as she opens her mouth. Her vocals will surely cause the blind to see and the deaf to hear!!!,” says one admirer. Vashti is inspired by musical artists like Lisa McClendon, Joye B. Moore, Kindred the Family Soul, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jill Scott and Eryka Badu. Always led by the Holy Spirit, she is bound for musical greatness, as she gives all the glory and honor to her most intimate companion, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. “Music is a part of me, I can feel it in the very depth of my soul and I thank God everyday for His many blessings and gifts,” says Vashti. “Watch out, Satan!” Jesus is moving in everyone’s heart through His angel from heaven ….Vashti.
