Singer and self-taught guitarist Victor Sirker was born in New Orleans, LA, the perfect setting for a blues or jazz artists. He grew up there, surrounded by the local music and the many gifted artists who would influence him over the years. In the late '70s, Sirker was working as a waiter to pay the bills, playing his music when and where he could. A lucky break landed him a chance to play with Roy Ayers' Ubiquity. 24 hours later, Sirker found himself as part of the headline act at Howard University for KC & the Sunshine Band and Santana. During his long musical career Sirker has worked with many popular artists, including the Neville Brothers, Big Joe Turner, Professor Longhair, Dr. John, and Percy Mayfield. But the path was not always an easy one, and in 1988, Sirker tossed in the towel for a few years. No matter how levelheaded it seemed to quit for good, to give up his music forever, his heart never agreed. By 1998 he was back to stay and more determined than ever to make a go of it. A year later his hard work paid off, in the form of a debut album, Out of the Darkness. It was followed two years later by the sophomore release On the Bayou.
