Zydeco Hurricanes were led by guitarist Selwyn Cooper, a noted sideman who toured with such renowned figures as Clifton Chenier, Buckwheat Zydeco, Rockin' Dopsie and Fernest Arceneaux. Additionally including bassist Alonzo Johnson, Jr. (himself a Chenier alum as well) and former Buckwheat Zydeco drummer Nathaniel Jolivette, as well as two newcomers -- vocalist/accordionist John Wilson and washboard player Adam Robinson -- Zydeco Hurricanes made their debut in 1994 with Louisiana Zydeco. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
