Homer Hiccolm & the Rocketboys is from Abilene, TX. While there is no one named Homer Hiccolm in the band, the Rocketboys, "with a unique style of soaring guitars and poetic lyrics" (Bryan-College Station Eagle), want to write music that incorporates the rich musical history represented in each member's childhood and geographical origins. Classic influences of Memphis, Atlanta and Dallas aside, the band creates an ambient style of rock that helps the blind to see, the deaf to hear and the lame to walk (metaphorically, of course).
This band's commonplace is the Big Country, the Key City — West Texas. Abilene is their home, but, boy, do they love to get away from time to time. Check their MySpace to see if they're touring near you.
