Short blog I promise (small Ninty rant)
Ok, so I have talked enough about what I like about Sony and what I hate, but now it's Nintendo's turn. I played the old school one back in 89, but lets face it, it was the only console on the market so it's hard for the damn thing to be a flop now isn't it? Even when Sega came out they were giving them a run for their money!!! I'm just so tired of hearing Nintendo fans saying Microsoft and Sony......especially Sony have done nothing for gaming. They make it sound like the ps2 was a flop and the gamecube beat everybody out. I've heard fanboys saying that Sony is running on the same 5 games, funny I was thinking the same thing about Nintendo. Mario anybody? Do a search on mario in your GS search bar see how many games come up, at least 100......and Sony milks? Everybody is looking forward to Mario, and Zelda and Metroid and Pokemon.....yea those are some orignal titles coming out. I like these games but quit making it seem like Nintendo can do no wrong!!!!
The thing I want to complain about is this "Innovative" crap I keep hearing about, ( Don't even get me started on the wii 60). What exactly makes them "innovative"??. I swear all the 12 year old Nintendo fanboys don't even know what the word means but they say it like a rallying cry! Is it the wii-mote? Nope, been done before........people try and say that it's the games but I've never seen anything truly innovative in the actual games. They are fun b/c they make them so simple yet somehow complex that it keeps people coming back for more. I see nothing innovative about a guy stomping on mushrooms, what is it they have changed.........you will look inside yourself and realize NOTHING!!!!! Nintendo, Sony and MIcrosoft have stolen EVERYTHING from xerox or Atari so I would like to make a request to have the fanboys shut the bloody hell up about Sony stealing, or Nintendo being too kiddy and whatever it is people say about Microsoft. You know what would be truly innovative? If I could find a way to go through the screen and introduce these staunch fanboys with the business end of my shoe! I could go on about fanboys but I decided to do something less painful like stick my penis in an oven.

Wanna be my f4iend?
There seems to be a need for some chilling out here. Me, I like the Xbox and the X360's potential. I think the PS3 will do just fine. The Wii seems to need some new games besides Mario and the like. But if it's what you like go for it and enjoy it. Hell if the new games available on it are good I might even get one, who knows.
the process of making changes to something established by introducing something new
the act of introducing something new: something newly introduced (The American Heritage Dictionary).
the introduction of something new. (Merriam-Webster Online)
a new idea, method or device. (Merriam-Webster Online)
the successful exploitation of new ideas (Dept of Trade and Industry, UK).
change that creates a new dimension of performance
If what these definitions say's are true, then I'm as innovative as Nintendo is. All innovation means is trying or doing something new.......but Nintendo has barely had any of their own ideas. I already squashed the "sony ripped off Nintendo" thing with patents and links to prove and now I'm here to prove that Sony innovated just as much if not more than Nintendo. I'll even give 360 some credit, the hard-drive and live thing is an AMAZING idea. the big 3 are great gaming consoles, it's dorks like kenzo who are just trying to be jerks and not see the whole light or spectrum.
Twenty years ago, Nintendo created Mario and Bowser, Link and Ganon, Samus and Mother Brain. It created several intensely compelling game designs accompanied by equally compelling narratives. Sometimes, when nobody's looking, I still get misty-eyed when I think of some of the great scenes in all the Zelda games I've finished (LoZ 1, Zelda II: Link's Adventure, LoZ: A Link to the Past--that was all I needed). All the characters, and the visual imagery; the heroic theme and setting. May the way of the Hero lead to the TriForce! OMG, I am SO saving my country with this dude. Did it happen by accident? Was it a fluke? It's heresy, but I think it WAS a fluke. If it wasn't a fluke, why don't they do it again? You don't seriously think they don't want to do it again; you don't think they wouldn't love to capture everybody's heart again. But they've forgotten how. That's why we see tripe like Pokemon and Nintendogs. It's shameful and it's ugly, but it's true: what made Nintendo great was lost a long time ago, and now they can only imitate themselves, hoping people won't notice.
All these new jacks going on about Mario and how hot they are for the next Link game--I think very few of them were around for the first games, so none of them knows that what made these games special was that they were different from what preceded them. They were NEW compelling characters and NEW compelling game designs. Well, what has Nintendo done for us lately? Kirby doesn't count; Kirby is a non-character and Kirby isn't even fun. Oh yeah, StarFox. Well, StarFox on SNES was pretty hot when it was new, but that was in spite of its characters, not because of them. Going the kiddie route was definitely the last nail in the coffin of that ill-fated series.
Nintendo lucked out with the NES, in my opinion in much the same way that Atari lucked out with the 2600; only Nintendo was run by shrewd businessmen instead of schmucks, so it was able to carry its successes from year to year, spanning decades. But its days of inspired, well-crafted, original character and game design are long gone. Now Nintendo rides on little more than its esteemed reputation; but for the majority of gamers, reputation just isn't enough anymore.
Consider--Sony had no reputation at all in the console gaming world when it made its Playstation, and look how easily it unseated Nintendo. Microsoft actually had a bad reputation in the computing world in general, and look how successful it was with the XBox. Reputation plays some role, certainly, but variety and quality appeal much more to discerning consumers.
So, since it's lost nearly all the licensees who used to develop exclusively for it; and since it seems to lack any will (or ability?) to create a new intellectual property of its own that anybody actually cares about; and since for several generations running, it's hobbled its console hardware with questionable design decisions that eventually scared away developers, Nintendo finds itself the lame duck trying to make a comeback. I give Nintendo credit for trying something new in the Wii--it's an odd pairing of their worst marketing concept ever, and maybe their most original game console concept ever. I hope it works. I want to see them rewarded for finally having both balls AND wits, at the same time; but when I look at their first-party lineup, my heart begins to sink.
Now, seriously, I don't really care about the stupid "innovation" everyone's (everyone) is always posting about. I don't. Why? Because why should I care of which company's being innovative or which company is a copycat of who? Because it's stupid, I make my decisions on what's happening now, like what I want to buy. That's all. What I want to buy. Why should anybody care about who copied who 10 or 20 years ago! If I have the money and want to buy it then I buy it. Since I don't have money to throw around I have to buy things based on how much money I have.
Because I am not a die-hard rabid fanboy that you (Lageasy) took me for. Why you singled me out because of what I posted on a message board for a (now old) news story (that has been updated with a new related one) I will never really understand.
But that Message you sent me was pitiful, hopefully to the point that even you must realize how fanboy you must have seemed in your message based off of a single sentence. That and the unnecesary other...descriptions in your PM ticked me off to the point where I reported you and then added you to the ignore list (you're the first one).
If stupid is all you're going to post/send to me then do I need to deal with it? No. In your other blog entries (which I've read) you seemed like a rational, intelligent User. But unfortunatley I didn't see any of that in the stuff I've seen from you. Pointing out spelling errors in a blog post? Really low and pathetic. (lol liek omg! You missed the apostrophe in front of the 98, it should be '98 ^_^ dipsh**) (I 'm so cool insulting you for spelling and/or grammar mistakes you may have not noticed!!!
Please Lageasy, "Fanboy" is the worst -ism.
So Communism and Racism are not the worst?? LMFAO! Hmmm it's a good post but I think you need to take a chill pill dude. I think it might be you that is the fanboy on the fact that you had to make it a point of your argument to come posting your taint in my blog and now I'm stuck with your lousy post under my great one
Horse_Radish............I have nothing to say to you except for what I have already said haha.
