Selling at tour dates and on each band's Web site, vinyl will feature covers of Joy Division's "No Love Lost" and Serge Gainsbourg's "Poupee de Cire."
Hoping to introduce spiritualized rock and punk-tronica to their respective camps, Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem are teaming for a fall North American tour, and today announced a split 7-inch single that will be for sale at the live shows and on their Web sites.
The 7-inch vinyl will feature Arcade Fire's cover of Serge Gainsbourg's "Poupee de Cire (Wax Doll)" on one side and LCD Soundsystem's cover of Joy Division's "No Love Lost" on the other.
LCD is also prepping a digital-only release of a new EP called A Bunch of Stuff. The EP will include Franz Ferdinand's cover of LCD Soundsystem's current single, "All My Friends" and LCD's live performance of "Us vs. Them" live on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic, as well as remixes of other songs from the group's latest album, Sound of Silver: Soul Wax ("Get Innocuous"), Carl Craig ("Sound of Silver"), Sorcerer ("Us v Them"), and Gucci Sound System ("Time to Get Away").
