Veteran hip-hop trio has recruited the likes of M.I.A., Lily Allen, and Pulp's Jarvis Cocker to add vocals to their instrumental album, The Mix-Up.
They've donned dapper threads and performed "gala" instrumental sets for much of the past six months in support of The Mix-Up, their latest album.

But now the Beastie Boys are ready to bring in some reinforcements from across the Atlantic. As they begin the process of putting together a remixed version of the June release, the trio has sought out the likes of M.I.A., Lily Allen, and Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker.
The Beasties are "talking to some different artists who might do kinda like remixes and put vocals on it, so it wouldn't be us doing vocals on it," Adam "MCA" Yauch told Billboard.com. "It would be kind of like a different version of the album, with a bunch of people guesting on it. It'll be interesting to see what they do with the stuff."

Yauch also said that the group have an idea for a visual version of the album as well, incorporating images from the group's current tour, which wraps Septemebr 27.
"We've been traveling with a Super 8 camera," he said, "and a lot of times we'll just make something. While we were in Singapore we filmed stuff, and in Australia and different places. We're talking about cutting it together into a full-length film that kinda goes the length of the album."
The remix album doesn't yet have a release date, but the Beasties plan to return to the studio after their tour to work on another new album. "We just kind of go in and mess around, see what happens," Yauch said. "There's no plan or anything."
