Jermaine Jackson tells BBC 6 Music that Michael will be involved in a planned world tour next year, the brothers' first trek since 1984.
The circus that is Michael Jackson and his five brothers could be coming to an arena near you.
Jermaine Jackson told BBC 6 Music this week that Michael would indeed be involved in a planned Jackson 5 world tour in 2008, confirming the swirling rumors that the superstar brothers would tour for the first time since 1984.
"We feel we have to do it one more time," Jermaine Jackson told the BBC. "We owe that to the fans and to the public."
The biggest obstacle to a tour in previous years has been Michael Jackson's schedule, along with the controversy surrounding his 2005 trial and subsequent acquittal on child molestation charges. But Jermaine Jackson, who appeared in the British version of Celebrity Big Brother this year, said that his brother has been involved in discussions about a world tour.
"He has to be, he is a Jackson," he said. "He was at the meetings. Michael will be involved."
The Jackson 5--Tito, Jermaine, Michael, Jackie, and Marlon, and later on, younger brother Randy--last toured together in 1984, in-between Michael Jackson's monstrous hit albums Thriller and Bad.
"There's been so much going on, getting over all the hurdles that we all were faced with during Michael's trial," Jermaine said, noting that the group was "in the studio at the moment. But we are stronger than ever."
