To celebrate 25th anniversary of legendary album, Kanye West, Akon, Will.I.Am, and Fergie step in for remixed bonus tracks.

If Michael Jackson is going to pull off his much-hyped comeback in 2008, he's going to get a lot of help.

Remember the time? Remember the time?

In addition to the much-rumored Jackson 5 tour, Jacko will have the momentum of a star-studded reissue of his legendary Thriller album to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

Epic/Legacy said it will reissue a deluxe edition of the album on February 12, including unreleased bonus tracks mixed by or featuring Kanye West, Akon, Will.I.Am, Fergie, and Jackson himself.

The eight new tracks include five previously unreleased songs: a new Kanye West remix of "Billie Jean"; a new 2008 version of "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" with Akon and Will.I.Am; Will.I.Am remixes of "The Girl Is Mine" and "P.Y.T."; and "For All Time," a rare unreleased cut from the original Thriller recording sessions, newly mixed and mastered by Jackson.

The reissue will also feature three songs that were included on a 2001 reissue of Thriller: "Someone in the Dark," "Carousel," and Jackson's original demo recording of "Billie Jean."

The set will also house a DVD with digitally remastered Jackson videos like "Thriller," "Beat It," and "Billie Jean," as well as his Emmy-nominated performance of the latter song on 1983's Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever TV special.

Ah yes, dig that original Thriller cover -- back when Michael was still black.

There's already a special edition of this album, and it was released in 2001. I guess this new edition is meant for kids my age to get into Michael Jackson.
