World renowned for his ferocious rhyme ability and South Bronx pedigree, Percee P has been astonishing hip-hop listeners with his blistering verses since the 1980s. Up until recently, he was found almost exclusively on highly collectible 12-inch singles and in show-stealing cameo appearances, but his long-awaited debut solo album, Perseverance, is finally here, released earlier this year on Stones Throw Records. (Included in our Best Albums feature here).

Rolling through the country as part of the 2K8 Bounce Tour, Percee took some time out to chop it up with MP3.com, discussing his album, an upcoming remix project again produced entirely by Madlib, and his penchant for selling CDs hand to hand at his own shows.
