Windy City rockers to play five nights in their hometown, promising to cover "the band's complete recorded works."
Before Wilco launches into its first tour of 2008, the Chicago-based band is going to give its hometown a career-spanning gift.
The band will play a five-night run at the Windy City's Riviera Theatre, and those won't be regular sets by a long shot. Through the course of the five shows, set for Feb. 15-16 and Feb. 18-20, Wilco has promised to explore "the band's complete recorded works."
"Over the five nights we will attempt the 'complete Wilco' and try to clear out the dusty corners of the catalog that we haven't attended to in a while," frontman Jeff Tweedy said in a statement, promising a "distinct, one-of-a-kind set list each night."
The Chicago stand will serve as the kickoff for a short North American tour, which heads through the Midwest, the East Coast, and the South before concluding on March 9 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Wilco got some Grammy love last week when its Sky Blue Sky was nominated for a best rock album.
