Southern rockers will release as-yet-untitled album June 10, with live dates at SXSW in March and NYC in June.
Since the October 2005 release of the acclaimed album Z, My Morning Jacket fans have been given plenty to snack on, with the Okonokos double live album and a smattering of concert dates.
But now it's time for another full meal.
The Southern rockers said this week that a new, as-yet-untitled studio set is on the way on ATO Records and will hit stores June 10. The band recorded the album in New York City, and has scheduled a blowout show on June 20 at Radio City Music Hall to celebrate the album's release. "The classic art-deco majesty of the venue will surely amplify the band's already ethereal stage presence," ATO said in a post on its Web site.
The group's first appearance at the storied venue will be "An Evening With," and is being billed as MMJ's only New York-area appearance for the time being.
The band has a few other live dates scheduled, including its first appearance at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas since 2002. The band will play a March 13 show at Austin Music Hall, and frontman Jim James will also play a solo set at Austin's St. David's Church. The band will join Yo La Tengo for a SXSW warm-up gig at the Verizon Wireless Theatre in Houston on March 10.
My Morning Jacket live dates:
3-10 Houston, TX - Verizon Wireless Theatre (w/ Yo La Tengo)
3-13 SXSW - Austin, TX - Austin Music Hall
3-15 SXSW - Austin, TX - St. David's Church (Jim James solo)
6-20 New York, NY - Radio City Music Hall ("An Evening With My Morning Jacket")
