Awards ceremony will also feature Beatles tribute from the casts of Cirque du Soleil's LOVE and the film Across the Universe.

Given the green light from striking writers, the 50th annual Grammy Awards has added to its list of performers and presenters for the Feb. 10 ceremony.

Feist from the Feist from the "1234" video.

Feist, Alicia Keys, and Brad Paisley were announced this week as performers for the show, with Feist perhaps positioned for a big night. Despite having three solo albums out and four with Broken Social Scene, the Canadian songstress is nominated for Best New Artist and will likely use the Grammys to perform "1234," the song featured in the ubiquitous iPod ad.

Feist, Keys, and Paisley join the previously announced performers, including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Foo Fighters, and Mary J. Blige, among others.

The ceremony will also include a tribute to the Beatles featuring the casts of the Las Vegas show LOVE by Cirque du Soleil, which is based on the music of the Fab Four as well as the Beatles-inspired big-screen musical Across the Universe.

The 50th annual awards show also announced the first slate of presenters, which will feature a variety of past Grammy winners including Natalie Cole, Juanes, Cyndi Lauper, Bette Midler, and Bonnie Raitt.

As for Amy Winehouse, whose stellar album Back to Black is up for six Grammys, her label's statement last week about its hopes that Winehouse would attend and perform might be premature.

"I'm not sure the Grammys are going to happen," Winehouse's father Mitch told UK newspaper The Mirror. "I don't want her to go--I think it might be a bit too soon for her. She's not well--that's why she's in rehab. But she's doing OK. She is getting good treatment."

I'd say she's pretty boring and overrated, but there's no denying 2007 was Feist's year. Hipster dinner music, IMO, but good for her. there's plenty worse hogging the spotlight.

Feist Feist

She was born Leslie Feist in Calgary in the mid-'70s but goes by her surname when it comes to making music for a living. The Jhay-inspired songstress got her start playing in a high-school punk band called Placebo (not to be confused with the U.K. modern rock act of the same name). After winning a battle of the bands contest, Placebo played...

Alicia Keys Alicia Keys

Her official website says she possesses an "old soul," and the hard facts seem to back up the implied claim of wisdom and experience that transcend Alicia Keys' youth. Barely in her twenties, Keys was responsible for an extremely hot debut, Songs in A Minor. The release, which she wrote and produced for Clive Davis' J Records, blends diverse...

Brad Paisley Brad Paisley

Contemporary country singer/songwriter Brad Paisley was born October 28, 1972, in Glen Dale, WV; given his first guitar at age eight, he delivered his first public performance at church two years later. With his 50-something guitar teacher Clarence "Hank" Goddard and two of the older man's seasoned musician buddies, the teenaged Paisley formed...

The Beatles The Beatles

So much has been said and written about the Beatles -- and their story is so mythic in its sweep -- that it's difficult to summarize their career without restating clichés that have already been digested by tens of millions of rock fans. To start with the obvious, they were the greatest and most influential act of the rock era, and introduced...

Forget that it's awfully hard to call this live recording Unplugged. Unlike the early installments of the MTV series, which focused on a performer accompanied only with an acoustic guitar, resulting in unsurprisingly simple affairs, Alicia Keys' Unplugged is big, splashy, and immodest -- even if her guitarist is playing acoustic and she plays a...

Brad Paisley
As anybody who follows country music knows, Brad Paisley is acknowledged among audiences and critics alike as the new traditionalist standard-bearer for the 2000s -- the new guy that not only keeps the fire burning, but also rakes in the cash, having number one hits along with good reviews. He's not big and brassy like Toby Keith; he's the heir...
