Indie event adds a third day and unveils an early lineup that includes Cat Power, Clipse, Of Montreal, Iron and Wine, others; tickets go on sale today.
Pitchfork unveiled details of its summer music festival this week, expanding the Chicago-based event to three days and teaming up with the acclaimed All Tomorrow's Parties in doing so.
The festival, set for July 13 to 15 in Chicago's Union Park, features a preliminary lineup that includes Cat Power, Clipse, Of Montreal, Iron and Wine, Girl Talk, Jamie Lidell, Grizzly Bear, Professor Murder, and Ken Vandermark's Powerhouse Sound.
The first day of the event will be held in conjunction with All Tomorrow's Parties' "Don't Look Back" series, whereby legendary artists perform their seminal albums live and in their entirety. Pitchfork has not yet announced its "Don't Look Back" lineup but promised, "You will not be disappointed."
Last year's Pitchfork fest featured sets from the likes of Os Mutantes, Silver Jews, Devendra Banhart, Yo La Tengo, Spoon, and Art Brut, among others.
Tickets for the event go on sale today at 12 p.m. CST via TicketWeb. Three-day passes cost $45, while a two-day pass costs $35 and single-day tickets cost $25. The Friday night show is $15.
