Legendary artist will play 21 shows, with tickets set at £31.21; singer hopes to land Winehouse for "Love is a Losing Game" cover.
Fresh on the heels of an extended residency in Las Vegas, Prince plans to travel the world and study the Bible.
But in between the two, the artist formerly known as a symbol will set up shop in London, playing an unprecedented 21 shows in the UK metropolis.
Unlike most Vegas residencies, Prince will keep ticket prices reasonably low, charging £31.21 ($62.09) in reference to the 3121 title of his last album.
The "Earth Tour" shows will include seven dates at the O2 Arena on August 1, 3, 4, 7, 10, 11 and 14. Each attendee will receive a copy of Prince's as-yet-untitled, unreleased new album. The 48-year-old singer said he wanted to release his new album as a form of "direct marketing, so I don't have to be in the speculation business of the music industry."
Speaking at a press conference in London today, Prince said he and his band had rehearsed 150 songs for the dates, the only European shows he will perform this year. He said he was a big fan of Amy Winehouse and hoped to invite the singer to join him for a cover of her song "Love is a Losing Game."
Prince also said he has been house hunting. "I really like Earl's Court, but I can't live there!"
