Britney to duet with Marilyn Monroe?; Akon apologizes; Busta passes on plea deal; Cee-Lo starts label; Pumpkins' photos stolen.
Report: Britney to duet with Marilyn Monroe
Where does recording a duet with a long-deceased pinup rank on the comeback desperation scale? Britney Spears is reportedly set to record a duet with a previously unreleased Marilyn Monroe song called "Down Boy." Lance Bass, 28, a former member of Britney's ex-lover Justin Timberlake's band N'SYNC, has reportedly secured the rights to the song and thinks it would be perfect for Spears. "Lance wants Britney to sing with Marilyn on the track, like Natalie Cole did on "Unforgettable" with her dad Nat King Cole," the UK newspaper Daily Mail reported.
Akon apologizes, fallout continues
With the major sponsor of his tour with Gwen Stefani pulling the plug, Akon issued an apology for his raunchy onstage dance with a 15-year-old female fan. The singer, who has been under fire since video footage of the dance appeared online, showing him simulating sex with the young audience member, issued the statement to the Associated Press. The singer blamed the promoters at the club for allowing the girl on the premises.
"It was never my intention to embarrass or take advantage of my fans in any way, especially those under the age of 18," he said. "That is why we tried to make sure that the club did not admit anyone under 18 in the audience. Somehow, that standard was not met."
Busta declines plea deal
For the second time in two months, Busta Rhymes has declined a plea deal on the assault charges he faces. New York prosecutors dangled a deal that would have sent him to jail for one year for assault and then allow him to avoid incarceration for the other charges he faces from his four arrests in the past 10 months. Those arrests include an incident just last week, in which he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Defense attorney Scott Leemon filed a motion rejecting the prosecution's attempt to combine Rhymes' two misdemeanor assault charges into one, noting that his client has a "valid defense" in both cases and wants them tried separately. The lawyer has previously called Rhymes' myriad of run-ins with the law "payback" for not cooperating with the police's investigation into the 2006 shooting death of his former bodyguard, Israel Ramirez.
Cee-Lo starts label
With three Goodie Mob albums, two solo records, and a Grammy-winning Gnarls Barkley smash success behind him, Cee-Lo is ready to run his own label. The round mound of the soul sound is preparing to launch Radiculture, a new label imprint under Atlantic Records. The label will seek to find, cultivate, and mentor new artists, AllHipHop.com reports.
"I've been in the music business for quite some time now," Cee-Lo said in a statement. "I've had some unforgettable high points and some disappointing low points. I'm eager to pass on the lessons I learned along the way. Maybe up and coming artists can avoid some of the pitfalls and focus on making great music. You can expect plenty of great music from Radiculture!"
Pumpkins' rehearsal space burglarized
Two unidentified fans broke into the Chicago rehearsal space of the Smashing Pumpkins last week and stole some photos, some of which were reportedly up for album art consideration. "Management for the Smashing Pumpkins confirms that the band's rehearsal studio in Chicago was burglarized last week," the band's management said in a statement. "The two people who are now in jail illegally gained access to the band's private space and stole various items belonging to them over the course of several hours while the band had left for the evening. The group feels their rights have been violated by this crime and will always pursue their rights and the law to protect their property and the safety of themselves, their families, and their fans."

4.Did she at any time try to leave the stage, or was she complient in all the activities that led up to and including what's on the video? well the video starts with her legs wrapped around him... im saying yeah
5. Could she have misunderstood what Akon sings about or his style of performance? OK. one of his songs is " I Want To Love You" (but wait, this is a 18+ club...= uncut song, I Want To "****" You) well if she has ears then i think she should know what that means... this is just another case of someones parents getting mad and blaming something/one else, instead of disciplining their children.
I dont personaly agree with what akon did... but this isnt based on what is moraly right or wrong, we're talking legal issues.
If you want to bash akon then there are plenty of sites that are made for that... but the simple fact is PEOPLE HAVE SEX, him dry-humping someone on stage is compareable.... (DONT GO INTO A STRIP CLUB IF YOU DONT LIKE SEEING near-NAKED PEOPLE) (DONT GO TO A NUDE BEACH IF YOU DONT LIKE NUDE PEOPLE) (DONT WATCH PORN IF IT OFFENDS YOU) ( AND DONT HOP ON STAGE WITH SOMEONE WHO SINGS ABOUT "****" SOMEONE, IF YOU DONT AGREE WITH IT)
the girl should have never bust out her fake I.D. and hopped on stage, if she didnt want "anything like this to happen" there "were" police there, who did not have a problem with it. And i dont believe she had a problem with it "until her daddy got involved with it anyways WND Exclusive Big corporations help 'rape rapper' tour U.S.

Danah Alleyne and her father David
Hip-hop superstar Akon is touring the U.S. with the help of major U.S. corporations, including a partnership with Verizon, despite being under investigation for a simulated rape of a 14-year-old preacher's daughter caught on video last month at a concert in Trinidad.
Patrick Manning, prime minister of Trinidad, called for a formal investigation of the explicit April 12 performance at Trinidad's Club Zen, which has since been closed by authorities.
"I have taken very careful notice of this matter and the owner of Zen owes it to the public to take responsibility," said Manning. "I will be interfacing with Zen because that kind of thing should never be allowed to happen in this country."
Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds described the on-stage antics with Danah Alleyne as "lewd." He insists Akon should be prosecuted.

The girl is the daughter of Flaming World Ministry pastor David Alleyne. She came forward, with her father, to apologize for going on stage with the Senegalese-American Akon, saying she regrets attending the concert.
The shocking video has been pulled from the popular video site YouTube, though copies of it can be found on many other Internet sites.
The teen said she was permitted into the club despite being underage. She was part of what was characterized as an impromptu dance competition announced by the singer. The competition featured seven girls. Akon promised a trip to Africa to the winner. After the teen "won" the contest, Akon announced the Africa prize was actually him.

"I got carried away, I started to dance as well, but I never thought it was going to be like that," Danah Alleyne told the Trinidad Express. (consent)
"This whole hip hop thing is a guise and I don't want any part of it," said the girl later. "I don't want any part of it. Look at what I have to go through with one mistake that I made. My Dad warned me every time and I didn't listen. I am sorry." (daddies little girl.. does nothing wrong as usual)
She says now her only dancing will be in the dance ministry of her father's church. (im sure you cant dance like that in a church)
either way... i dont even care anymore, im just sick of everyone suddenly rushing in and talking about how "morally wrong" something is, and ignoring that they themselves, along with everyone else has "moral issues" as well
