Sri Lankan rapper returns with much-hyped sophomore album, to be preceded by single "Boyz."
The follow-up to the most talked-about album of 2005 is finally ready for its close-up.
M.I.A. has unveiled the tracklist for Kala, her second LP, due August 21 via Interscope in the US and August 20 in the UK via XL Recordings. The Sri Lankan rapper has rounded up regular collaborator Diplo as producer, as well as Timbaland, African Boy, Blaqstarr, Morganics/The Wilcannia Mob, and Switch.
Kala will be preceded by the album's first single, "Boyz," which is already generating a load of Internet buzz. The Guardian in the UK dubbed the track its single of the week last weekend and called it "a riotous blitz of jerky military riddims."
