Streetwatch TV
Episode Eleven
One of the biggest live rap events of the year, the 3rd annual Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival went down a few weeks ago, and Streetwatch was there in full effect. The epic, all-day concert jumped of properly, with a huge crowd, good vibes, great performances from over a dozen different artists, plus lots of surprise guest appearances.
We've got all the goods, with raw footage from an assortment of NYC heroes, including Jeru The Damaja, Dres, Large Professor, Smif-N-Wessun, Heltah Skeltah, Ghostface (with Cappadonna and Theodore Unit) and Fat Joe. Stay tuned for a full-on Brooklyn Hip-Hop Fest feature hub, with interviews and even more live sets coming soon.
While we were in New York, it seemed only fitting to hook up with legendary producers Da Beatminerz (DJ Evil Dee and Mr. Walt), seeing as the Bucktown duo are responsible for some of the most classic NY anthems ever recorded. They give us the lowdown on their latest project, discuss the current state of hip-hop, and offer advice to all the aspiring producers out there in cyberspace.
Enjoy the show!
