On the heels of a reportedly disastrous photo shoot, pop star allegedly fires assistant, tangles with paparazzi, and violates custody terms.
At some point here it might not be a bad idea for Britney Spears to just go home, shut the door, and catch her breath.
The embattled pop star, whose every move is documented by paparazzi and gossip pubs, seems incapable of managing her planned comeback without turmoil.
Earlier this week, Spears reportedly handled a scheduled photo shoot and "tell-all" interview with OK! magazine about as poorly as she could have, appearing disoriented, paranoid, and uncooperative, using an expensive dress provided for the shoot to wipe off fried chicken grease from her hands and storming off without giving the magazine any publishable pictures.
And then there was the tale of Shannon Funk, Spears' recently hired-and-fired personal assistant, who was allegedly shopping her story of Spears' life to gossip site PerezHilton.com yesterday, telling the site that she had not signed a confidentiality agreement with the pop star.
"It was Shannon who caused most of the problems at the disastrous OK! magazine shoot," the site quoted a source as saying. "She was the one that was caught taking clothes from the shoot and the one who kept taking Britney to the bathroom."
Following the photo shoot, Spears reportedly took her sons, Sean Preston, 22 months, and Jayden James, 10 months, to Las Vegas with her for a respite, potentially violating the terms of custody agreement with ex-husband Kevin Federline. Under California law, neither parent can take a child out of state without written permission from the other, or a court order.
Early this morning, Spears' bodyguard Julio "JC" Camera reportedly roughed up a photographer outside the Wynn Las Vegas spa after an altercation over the photographer's proximity to--and possible contact with--one of her children.
The Las Vegas Police Department confirmed to Usmagazine.com that the bodyguard was issued a citation for misdemeanor battery. Police also said that Spears filed an allegation of battery on behalf of Sean Preston against a photographer.
