Divorce finalized

In happier times. In happier times.

More than eight months after Britney Spears filed for divorce from Kevin Federline, the couple's much-documented marriage officially ended today. Attorneys for both parties appeared in Los Angeles County Superior Court today to finalize the proceedings, and Court Commissioner Scott Gordon signed orders for dissolution of marriage, an alimony agreement, and child custody, according to the Associated Press.

"They are divorced," the pop star's attorney, Laura Wasser, told the AP after the hearing. "Everything is finalized. Most of that tracks the pre-nup. The child custody order was tentatively sealed, pending an Aug. 14 hearing, and Wasser said that the "best interests of the children could be harmed" if the arrangement were not sealed, as stated by Gordon.

Spears, 25, and Federline have two sons, 22-month-old Sean Preston Federline and 10-month-old Jayden James Federline. The couple had a private wedding ceremony on Sept. 18, 2004. Spears filed for divorce on Nov. 7, 2006. They agreed to split custody 50-50. According to TMZ.com, the couple's pre-nuptial agreement dictates that K-Fed will receive $15,000 a month for child support and $20,000 per month in spousal support, although the latter will cease in November.

Aguilera cancels shows, fueling rumors

Christina Aguilera Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera reportedly collapsed backstage at a show in Melbourne over the weekend, forcing the pop starlet to cancel two world-tour dates due to ill health and fueling rumors that she is pregnant. According to The Sun, Aguilera suffered breathing difficulties before collapsing backstage at a gig in Melbourne on Friday night. She was told by doctors that she needed bed rest and advised to cancel her remaining Australian concerts. A statement released by the singer explained that she is suffering from flu, and contained an apology to fans for letting them down.

The illness has only added to the increasing rumors that the pop star is pregnant. The Sun quoted a tour source as saying, "The wardrobe department have been letting out her costumes to accommodate her growing tummy. We have been told to keep it hush hush."

Twista pulled from McDonald's tour

Twista Twista

A Chicago-area billboard campaign against rap lyrics that demean woman and perpetuate violence has gotten the best of Twista. McDonald's, which was set to hold its ongoing free 10-city parking lot tour next week in Chicago with Twista as its headliner, has pulled the Chicago rapper from the tour, citing his "controversial lyrics." Twista had been scheduled to perform Aug. 7 in Chicago as part of the multigenre McDonald's Live jaunt, which started July 26 in Venice, Calif., and continues through Sept. 25 in Austin, Texas. Negotiations are still pending for a replacement headliner in Chicago, the fast-food giant said.

"Although we respect free speech and artistic expression, we do not condone or perpetuate derogatory language," McDonald's USA said in a statement. "We want to ensure these free concerts are fun as well as appropriate for all of our customers." The move comes on the heels of a Chicago community billboard campaign that named Twista as one of seven commercial rappers who lyrically demean woman and perpetuate violence. The outdoor ads read, "Stop Listening To Trash."

Kelly Osbourne to make Chicago debut

Kelly Osbourne Kelly Osbourne

Kelly Osbourne, daughter of Ozzy Osbourne and co-star of the former MTV hit reality show The Osbournes, is set to join the cast of the musical Chicago in London. Osbourne, 22, will join the cast at London's Cambridge Theater, playing the role of prison matron Mama Morton during a seven-week run starting Sept. 10, the theater said. Osbourne has recorded several albums, and was host of the British TV show Project Catwalk.

In related news, Ozzy Osbourne was doing well after undergoing a "minor outpatient procedure" late Saturday at Rose Medical Center in Denver, his representatives said. He was released early Sunday. KUSA-TV in Denver reported the 58-year-old rocker underwent surgery for a blood clot in his leg. Osbourne was in Denver to perform at Ozzfest.

Kiss' Stanley see heart rate jump

Kiss' Paul Stanley Kiss' Paul Stanley

Kiss singer and guitarist Paul Stanley had to pull out of the band's show at a casino 90 miles east of Los Angeles on Friday after his heart started beating at more than twice the normal level, he said on his Web site. The incident happened while the band was rehearsing for the show.

"My heart spontaneously jumped to 190 plus beats per minute, where it stayed for over an hour necessitating paramedics to start an IV and give me a shot to momentarily stop my heart and get it into a normal pattern," Stanley, 55, wrote on his site.

Stanley said he was advised performing would be risky, and the show went on without him. Fellow principal Gene Simmons told fans the group would play as a trio, and turned the show into a tribute to his ailing bandmate. Stanley, born Stanley Eisen, and Simmons co-founded Kiss in New York City in 1973.

When Christina Aguilera released her garish, sexually charged sophomore effort, Stripped, in 2002, it seemed that she pushed her obsessions with tweaking taboos just a little too far. Picking up where 2004's Kamikaze left off, The Day After is heavy with R&B, slickness, and hooks. In other words, it's the kind of album the hardcore lovers of Adrenaline Rush are going to sneer at while the radio heads and clubbers go nuts for it.
