Veteran rockers to play private show for fan club members Thursday night; live DVD to chronicle band's Italian shows last fall.
Always looking out for its diehard fans, Pearl Jam has thrown them two bones this week.
First, the band is playing a pre-Lollapalooza show Thursday night that is only open to members of its fan club, giving its devoted fans in Chicago a chance to see the band without the madness that will be the three-day festival in Chicago's Grant Park starting on Friday.
The veteran rockers are also set to release a live DVD culled from their five shows in Italy last fall. The DVD, dubbed Immagine Nel Telaio (Picture in a Frame), was directed by acclaimed photographer Danny Clinch.
Named after the Tom Waits song frontman Eddie Vedder covered during a show in Milan, includes 13 songs evenly drawn from both the band's older albums as well as last year's self-titled release. The DVD's three bonus tracks includes Vedder performing the Who's "A Quick One (While He's Away)" with opening act My Morning Jacket.
Pearl Jam's fan club show will be held at the 1,300-capacity Vic Theater in Chicago. Tickets are sold out. The band will headline Lollapalooza on Sunday night. Click here for a full schedule of performers.
