Band is reportedly set to announce a 50-date American arena tour to kick off in early October.
The on-again, off-again Van Halen reunion tour with David Lee Roth, shelved earlier this year when Eddie Van Halen went into rehab, has reportedly been revived.
With a press conference next week, the partially reunited veteran rock crew is set to announce a 50-date American arena tour to kick off in early October, according to Billboard.
The tour will feature founding Van Halen members David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen, with Eddie's son Wolfgang replacing founding bassist Michael Anthony.
Roth, who left the band in the mid-1980s in hopes of solo stardom, only to attempt and abort several reunions since then, is set to give it another try. Van Halen last toured in 2004 with vocalist Sammy Hagar, grossing nearly $40 million, according to Billboard Boxscore.
Roth has not fronted the band on tour in more than 20 years.
Meanwhile, Anthony and Hagar have teamed up for a tour in October under the name the Mad Anthony Express.
"I'm doing the lead singing, and we've been having a blast with this!!" Anthony wrote on his Web site.
The bassist also announced a contest whereby fans send in recipes that use Anthony's line of hot sauces.
"After Labor Day weekend, I'll be picking a grand prize winner and some runner-ups who will get some cool Mad Anthony stuff!! I am personally trying out the recipes I like and WHOA!!, I'm running out of asbestos underwear!!!"
