Kanye West, Rihanna, and Amy Winehouse are also up for multiple awards at 24th annual event, set for Sept. 9 in Las Vegas.

Kanye West might have a chance to bum rush Justice onstage at an MTV event again.

The nominations for the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards were unveiled today, and the Chicago rapper's "Stronger" video was nominated for video of the year. But in a surprise to many, so was the group he infamously interrupted during their acceptance speech for video of the year at the 2006 MTV Europe Awards in Copenhagen last November.

In a surprise to many, French electro duo Justice, which won MTV Europe's video of the year for the song "We Are Your Friends," joined West as a 2007 MTV VMA video of the year nominee for the video for their song "D.A.N.C.E."

Justin Timberlake's "What Goes Around...Comes Around," Beyoncé's "Irreplaceable," Rihanna's "Umbrella," and Amy Winehouse's "Rehab" were also each nominated for video of the year. Timberlake and Beyoncé led all artists, with five nominations apiece.

The 2007 MTV Video Music Awards will be held at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on Sept. 9 at 9 p.m. ET.

Timberlake, West, Rihanna, and Winehouse will also perform at the event, as will Timbaland, Fall Out Boy, Chris Brown, Lily Allen, and the Foo Fighters with special guests live from the Palms Fantasy Suites.

In addition to his video-of-the-year nomination, Timberlake was also nominated for male artist of the year, most earth-shattering collaboration for his duet with Timbaland on "SexyBack," and quadruple threat of the year for his success in music, fashion, philanthropy, business, acting, and dance.

Beyoncé was also nominated for female artist of the year, earth-shattering collaboration for her hip-shaking turn with Shakira in "Beautiful Liar," and quadruple threat.
