Meltwater
Inspired by the creation of bands such as Pavement or Velvet Underground, Meltwater deliver their own kind of independent rock tunes, supported by psychedelic sounding features and other eccentric musical conceptions. Established in late 1998, in Cardiff, Wales, in the U.K., Meltwater counted on a three-piece lineup constituted of David Lloyd (vocals), Dave Hollins (bass), and Lee Chick (drums). Lloyd, the band's major mentor, was a former member of the U.K.'s Charlie Brown band, whilst Hollins previously played with Easy Meat, and Chick was a residing element of Jack. Following different outcomes of their former outfits, the trio finally decided to assemble under Lloyd's initiative. The band rapidly became a reference within the Welsh music scene, producing the soundtrack for local directors' films, while preparing to record their first disc. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges, All Music Guide
