Whats wierd is that mp3.com was the first cool spot for uploading your track as an artist. OK not the FIRST but in 97 they KILLED..... and now look at it. What happend guys? Did all the merging finally smash this place. THE REALLY sucky thing is after the last merger, my account from 97 was GONE. Neat. And the autobots are of coarse SOOOOOoooooooo helpful with their responses. No offense mods, yall are better than even just a few years ago when nobody could explain how my accounts are just gone now. It took years for me to even CARE about this place anymore.

My producer JAZZB is one of the original users on here and his **** is GONE..... He was a genre former and chart topper and he's GONE?

    Corprate, corprate.....corprate.

You guys, this site still kills. Yall should at least make people get yer mp3s from here. Its fast and easy for comp-lame users. Get this site some love. Its OG.... hell I still rock one of 3 messenger bags they sent me back in the day FOR FREE just for being so active. What happend to all that? Wwwwwhat happend to the MP3.com label? To many lawsuits ,or buyouts?

Guess when an IPO comes on the market at 11 and ends the day at over a hundred..... we knew what would happen.... by the way.... shares are like 3 bucks now.

this is what I'm talking about. This message sat for 2 days with no response. I know its not that interesting but not even a mod?

mp3.com needs a new publicity firm.

    Hey CAPS3,
Sorry we haven't been all that present on these forums. I did want to clarify that the when CNET acquired the MP3.com domain from Vivendi Universal in 2004, that is literally all we acquired. We didn't get any data, account info, mp3s, or anything. We built the site completely from scratch.

We encourage everyone who was part of the original MP3.com to re-register with us and upload their music. It shouldn't take long.

The original MP3.com was cool, but it did exist in a bubble. Artist were getting paid because the site and industry had incredibly inflated value and worth. We could not feasible do the manufacturing and incentives that they did back then and stay in business.

Thanks for the kind words. We have big ideas for the site and hope to execute them soon.

well howdy Mike. Yeah after that 04' thing, I am really surprised they didn't carry over accounts. It takes a long time to build internet persona and that KILLED some cats who where using mp3.com exclusivey and forced them to soundclicks and reverb... and CNET esentially got RIPPED if they didn't get the accounts with the buyout. What was the point then? Just to dismantle one of the better forums for posting your music? Seems shady to me. I think there is a bigger picture we are not aware of.

I hope this NEVER happens again or this site can straight piss off. I use to PUSH this place.... I find myself on the mike telling folk "mp3.com/caps3" more than ever and I hope I can continue.

Don't lete Myspace get to far ahead of you cats. They started with a PHP and that is essentially what they have ended up with. Yall have a way better base, servers, and such. Don't let 1999 programming outshine yall. Myspace is a joke.

GET IT ON...... need ideas? I got a MILLION for marketing.

I was here in the hay days too. I re-registered to the new site after a short while. I was one of the only few that was posting a lot. The boards pretty much were dead and from what I can see, it hasn't changed much. I'm still holding out for this to change, but I guess we will just have to wait and see.
