What would be the best way to go about forming a band, posted name everywhere on ads in the net, no response whatsoever. Maybe i'm not doing it right. Got friends who love music but have no desire to play. So ....any suggestions??

    Get new friends

No, but seriously, I just happen to have friends who play music

I'd post some flyers in guitar center, sam ash, or local music stores

Thanx guys, I thought about it. Being a one man band sounds good. But then what happens when i play live. That means i have to setup the instruments for display and then tell the crowd there has been an incident between the bassist and the drummer and they weren't able to make it. So I have to continue for their pleasure. Sounds doable, i think it could work. I'll try that flyers idea, but if still no1 replies then i'll do it myself, and the band will be called "The 1 Man Band".

You could do what ben folds did on his live album and just do you and the piano the whole concert, or you could do what he does most of the time and hire touring musicians to play with you.

If I were you I wouldn't use a drum machine. Live instrumentation is soooooo much better at concerts.

DO NOT USE A DRUM MACHINE.

they sound so unnatural, i heard an acoustic band, they were using electronic drum pads as a percussion. Man it's sounds irritating to the ear. It almost sounds as if a plastic ruler was breaking everytime he hit those bongo-sampled pads. No good, yeah i like the piano concert idea, but there just 1 problem, i can't play the piano. hired musicians would be great.

Yeah, the net isn't a very good place to find musicians.  Do it locally.

Yeah, i gave him a call, then his mom picked it up. I heard him in the background and his mother said he's not home. I think his mom thinks i'm some type of ... you know. But it's all good, i hooked up with this lyricist, who wants to form a band. It's getting along well, now were interviewing this drummer. We checking out his skills this week. So after that, bass!

Most of the musicians I've played with I met through other musicians.  You could hang out at open mics or blues jams just to put the "feelers" out.  I've also found bandmates at local music colleges.
