K-Fed subpoenas Britney' ex-assistant

As his ex-wife continues to her exceedingly public downward spiral, Kevin Federline is making legal moves that could land him sole custody of the estranged couple's two sons. Alli Sims, a friend and former assistant to Spears, has been subpoenaed to offer a statement in a legal matter concerning the pop star and ex-husband Federline, his lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan told The Associated Press. Sims would be asked to give a deposition "in connection with the Britney Spears-Kevin Federline issue," but would give no specifics.

The couple, who officially divorced July 30, has a regular child custody hearing set for Tuesday. Earlier this month, Kaplan told the AP that Federline wouldn't been seen with the children in public. "When they are with him, he is going to shield his children from unwanted media attention," Kaplan said. "You will not find a picture of Kevin parading with the children out in a public place."

Meanwhile, the woman whose car Spears allegedly crashed into last week is angry that no one has contacted her about the incident. "It was simply like my car didn't matter to her, my inconvenience didn't matter to her," Kim Robard-Rifkin told CelebTV.com. "I'm not asking for money. I'm not asking for a new car. ... I simply want my car fixed, the same as I would fix somebody's car if I had done that."

Fiddy mad as 9/11 showdown nears

Forced to delay his album, Curtis, due to a less-than-stellar response to the singles that have preceded it, 50 Cent is hopping mad at leaked songs and he's not going to take it anymore. MTV News reported that the rapper blew up at the G-Unit offices in New York late last week after the audio and video of "Follow My Lead," his collaboration with Robin Thicke, leaked online. MTV said that 50 ripped out a plasma TV, threw his cell phone through a glass window, and stormed out, saying that he was going on vacation.

In an interview with DJ Kay Slay of Hot 97 on Thursday night, Fiddy said he's been frustrated with the way Interscope has handled Curtis, which is set to hit stores September 11, the same day as Kanye West's Graduation. "I threw 'Straight to the Bank' out there and 'Amusement Park' was the joint [Interscope] were supposed to assist me with going after. But when that came, it grew at the same pace that 'Straight to the Bank' grew. And I was like, 'Yo, it don't feel like it's a difference in the support for the actual record.'" Fiddy went on to say that Interscope leaked "Ayo Technology," his collaboration with Justin Timberlake, quickly after he released "I Get Money" and diluting the latter's success.

D'Angelo avoids jail time for 2005 crash

Diehard D'Angelo fans desperately hoping for any sign of a comeback from the once-chiseled soul man are in luck. Looking thinner and less loutish than he has in public in recent years, D'Angelo left a Virginia courthouse last Friday free from the specter of jail time for his 2005 car crash that left him injured and in major legal trouble. The singer--real name Michael Archer--pled guilty to charges stemming from the accident, receiving $1,250 in fines and a nine-month suspended jail sentence.

D'Angelo crashed his Hummer on state Route 711 in September of 2005 and was tossed from the vehicle, suffering minor injuries. The county's prosecutor declined to charge D'Angelo with reckless driving and a witness in the case didn't appear to testify. D'Angelo declined to answer any questions after the hearing but did confirm that new music was "in the works" and that his long-delayed third album remains untitled.

Winehouse reportedly rejects rehab

Amy Winehouse certainly seems to value authenticity. Seeming to take a page directly out of her lyrics sheet for "Rehab," the British songstress has reportedly rejected a rehab stint after an alleged drug overdose that caused her to be rushed to the hospital last week and cancel several live dates. The singer's father, Mitch Winehouse, told the Daily Mail, "Amy's going to be fine. She knows she's been through a terrible ordeal and is on the mend. We have been encouraged, after the initial scare, that she is now getting better and going to be alright."

Winehouse was discharged from London's University College Hospital last week after collapsing due to "severe exhaustion," according to her reps. But several UK papers reported that Winehouse collapsed from a drug overdose that included a cocktail of heroin, ecstasy, cocaine, and the horse tranquilizer ketamine. Regardless of the cause, Winehouse was forced to cancel several European tour dates. Winehouse's gigs at the V Festival's Chelmsford and Staffordshire sites on August 18 and 19, respectively, are expected to go ahead as planned, as are her string of fall US tour dates with Paolo Nutini.

Slash explains sitting Adler's GNR reunion

Slash decided to attend but not perform at former Guns N Roses drummer Stephen Adler's attempted GNR reunion, and a long-winded statement to Mark the Shark of the TK101 radio station in Florida, he explained his reason for doing so. Adler had organized the event, held at the Key Club in Hollywood in late July, by inviting all of the original members of GNR to a performance by his band Adler's Appetite. Slash, Duff McKagan, and Izzy Stradlin all showed up, but Axl Rose did not.

Duff and Izzy also got up to perform at the event, but Slash decided to stay seated, saying later that he was simply there to show Adler support after his long battle with addiction.

"Once I started getting phone calls and e-mails from all over the world about this gig, I said, 'You know what? I can't support it as such 'cause that's not what it is.' So I went down there but I didn't wanna get up and play because I didn't wanna fuel that any further. So I think Duff got up and played, and Izzy got up and played, and it was what it was, but I don't see any reunion happening for real."

Romeo buys snack company

Plenty of teenagers would love to own their own snack company, but not many have the funds to make it happen. But Romeo Miller is no average teen. The rapper-actor, now known as Romeo after dropping the "Lil" from his name, has bought the snack foods company Rap Snacks, Inc, makers of the popular potato chip brand Rap Snacks, "The Official Snack of Hip-Hop."

Bags of Rap Snacks bear the image of rappers like Romeo, Master P, and Yung Joc, and each rapper has his own flavor. Romeo's signature flavor of Rap Snacks is "Bar-B-Quin' With My Honey." Rap Snacks are currently available at 7-11 stores nationwide and will be appearing in cafeterias, convenience stores, and supermarkets soon.

Romeo and his father Master P launched a new record label this summer, Take A Stand Records, with the goal of cleaning up hip-hop lyrics. The pair is set to release a father/son album, Hip-Hop History. Romeo also plans to launch a new clothing line, Gumbo Station, and release a book, Guaranteed Success For Teens. He is also set to attend the University of Southern California on a full basketball scholarship starting in the fall.
