Rock vets will play 13 dates together starting Sept. 22, with Dylan headlining to promote his forthcoming 51-song compilation.
One has been a road warrior for almost the entirety of his legendary career.
The other hasn't performed solo in 12 years.
Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello are teaming up for a 13-date fall US tour, kicking off September 22 in Duluth, Georgia, and heading up the East Coast before wrapping it up October 9 in Rochester, New York.
Dylan will headline the outing to promote his upcoming 51-song compilation, for which Columbia Records has created a Web site to solicit fan input for which songs to include. The set comes out October 1, and will include a remix of "Most Likely You Go Your Way (And I'll Go Mine)" by producer Mark Ronson. The remix can be heard here.
The gigs will be Costello's first solo performances in 12 years. Amos Lee will serve as opening act.
Presale tickets for some shows are available now through Dylan's Web site.
