Legendary British rock band to offer its music through digital retailers for the first time, including a deal with Verizon Wireless.
Led Zeppelin, one of the last remaining digital holdouts, has agreed to make its catalog available through digital stores.
The legendary British rock band will offer its music through digital music retailers next month, the group said on Monday, as well as in an exclusive download and ringtone deal with Verizon Wireless.
The announcement comes amidst a spike in interest in the band, whose November 26 reunion show in London as part of a tribute to late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun has prompted more than a million fans to apply for 10,000 available tickets.
The Zeppelin catalog will hit digital stores on Nov. 13. The digital offering will include Mothership, a two-CD collection spanning the group's 12-year career and a remixed version of The Song Remains the Same soundtrack from the band's three-night stint at Madison Square Garden in 1973.
"We are pleased that the complete Led Zeppelin catalog will now be available digitally," guitarist Jimmy Page said in a statement. "The addition of the digital option will better enable fans to obtain their music in whichever manner they prefer."
Zeppelin is also teaming up with wireless giant Verizon Wireless to provide ringtones and full song downloads from all eight of its studio albums and other recordings.
