Avril Lavigne unveiled a spring 2008 North American tour this week in support of her latest album, Best Damn Thing.

The 32-date jaunt will kick off March 5 in Victoria, British Columbia and conclude May 9 in Spokane, Washington.

Lavigne announced the trek this week during a media event at Los Angeles' Whisky A-Go-Go. Boston-based pop rock band Boys Like Girls will serve as opening act.

"Before, my show has always been me and four guys," Lavigne told Billboard in March. "That's what I wanted at that point in my career. But now? F*** it." Lavigne's band this time will include a troupe of dancers.

Best Damn Thing debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 1.2 million copies in the US, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
