My Grammy Moment will pair rockers with string, brass, and woodwind instrumentalists on "Pretender."
Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters plan to get orchestral with their performance at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards, but they're going to need your help.
The annual awards show will continue its My Grammy Moment segment this year, with fans who play a string, woodwind, or brass instrument able to perform the Foo Fighters' "Pretender" with the band during the Feb. 10 ceremony.
The contest offers a twist on last year's My Grammy Moment, in which Houston singer Robyn Troup won a duet with Justin Timberlake at the Grammys.
Unsigned instrumentalists must upload a video of them playing a portion of "Pretender" to the YouTube My Grammy Moment page, and Grammy judges will pick 45 quarter-finalists. That list will be narrowed down to three semifinalists by online voting, and the three semifinalists will play with the band in a recorded rehearsal performance, from which a winner will be picked to perform with the band at the Grammys.
"We're not looking for guitarists, bass players, or drummers--we've got that covered," the band said in a video announcing the contest.
