Take That, Mika, Lewis top Brit nods

Reunited group and two breakout stars take four nominations apiece, with Arctic Monkeys, Mark Ronson, and Kaiser Chiefs grabbing three each.

Two breakout British stars and a reunited '90s boy band dominated the list of nominees for the Brit Awards, which were unveiled today.

Reunited boy band Take That, pop singer Mika, and Leona Lewis, the winner of the 2006 X Factor, the UK's version of American Idol, took home four nominations apiece, leading the way. The Arctic Monkeys, DJ and producer Mark Ronson, and the Kaiser Chiefs each garnered three nominations.

Mike and Ronson will battle it out for British male solo artist, along with Jamie T, Newton Faulkner, and Richard Hawley. Lewis will face stiff competition for best British female solo artist from the likes of Bat For Lashes, Kate Nash, KT Tunstall, and PJ Harvey.

Take That is up for British group, along with Arctic Monkeys, Editors, Girls Aloud, and Kaiser Chiefs, as well as best single for the song "Shine" and best album for Beautiful World. The rest of the best album nominees are Arctic Monkeys' Favourite Worst Nightmare, Leona Lewis' Spirit, Mark Ronson's Version, and Mika's Life In Cartoon Motion.

The Brit Awards also highlight the top music from outside the UK, with Kylie Minogue, Arcade Fire, Kings of Leon, and The Eagles all nabbing two nominations apiece.

See below for a full list of nominees. Winners will be announced at a ceremony at Earls Court on February 20. The event will be broadcast on ITV.

Paul McCartney, 65, will accept the Outstanding Contribution to Music award. Sir Paul will perform Beatles and solo hits to close ceremony, which will be presented by Sharon Osbourne, with contributions from husband Ozzy.

Kylie Minogue, the Kaiser Chiefs, Mark Ronson, Rhianna and Mika will also perform at the awards show.
