Reggae music is best served in a summertime outdoor setting with a blue sky above.
But that doesn't mean that rabid reggae fans in California have to hibernate through the winter and wait.
The annual Ragga Muffins Festival is back again this year for two dates in Southern California and two up north. The traveling event has lined up a slew of the biggest names in reggae music, including Beenie Man, Alpha Blondy, Barrington Levy, Capleton, Sly & Robbie, and Gregory Isaacs, among many more.
The circuit kicks off February 16 at Long Beach Arena with Beenie Man, Capleton, and Sly & Robbie headlining a bill that also includes Anthony B and emerging star Collie Buddz. The event stays put the following night with Alpha Blondy and Midnite replacing Beenie and Capleton.
Ragga Muffins then heads north for stops in Santa Cruz and San Francisco, with Midnitem, Anthony B, Gregory Isaacs, and Gentleman topping the Santa Cruz lineup and Barrington Levy and Los Angeles favorites the Aggrolites joining Alpha Blondy atop the SF show, which will be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.
Tickets for the events are available through Ticketmaster.
