Hannah Montana star nabs three nominations for Nickelodeon's March 29 awards show.
For 15-year-old Miley Cyrus, Sunday night's Grammy Awards were a chance to appear before music-industry elite, strut her stuff, and help Cyndi Lauper hand out the best new artist award to Amy Winehouse.
But at the Nickelodeon cable network's Kids Choice Awards, set for March 29, the star of Hannah Montana could clean up. Cyrus landed three Kids Choice nominations today, garnering nods for favorite female singer and favorite female actress. Her television show Hannah Montana also received a favorite TV show nomination.
The Kids Choice Awards, now in its 21st year, hands out awards across a variety of mediums, including music, movies, and television. The awards include three music categories.
Cyrus was joined in the favorite female singer category by Beyoncé, Fergie, and Alicia Keys, whereas Bow Wow, Chris Brown, Soulja Boy, and Justin Timberlake got nods for favorite male singer.
Teen favorites Jonas Brothers were nominated for favorite music group, along with Boys Like Girls, Fall Out Boy, and Linkin Park. Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls," Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry," Akon's "Don't Matter," and Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend" each nabbed nominations for best song. Rapper Ice Cube was nominated for favorite male movie star.
