AEG Live, the producer of the Coachella festival, is teaming up with Madison House Presents for the debut of the Rothbury Festival, to be held in Rothbury, Michigan from July 3-6 on Double JJ Ranch near Lake Michigan

The four-day festival boasts a loaded lineup that leans heavily toward the jam-band side of things, with Dave Matthews Band, Widespread Panic, John Mayer, Phil Lesh and Friends, Primus, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Gov't Mule, Medeski Martin & Wood, Sound Tribe Sector Nine, and Yonder Mountain String Band with Phish drummer Jon Fishman all slated to play the event.

But Rothbury has also booked more mainstream fare such as 311, Thievery Corporation, Snoop Dogg, Modest Mouse, Colbie Caillat, Slightly Stoopid, The Black Keys, Gogol Bordello, Citizen Cope, Ray LaMontagne, Drive-By Truckers, Of Montreal, The Dresden Dolls, and Gomez.

AEG Live is promoting the event as an environmentally conscious festival designed to draw attention to climate change and clean-energy alternatives. The event will feature a think tank offering panel discussions on climate concerns as well as an energy fair in which attendees can get their hands on related technology and products. The festival's campgrounds will strive for a zero-waste experience via composting and carbon offsetting.

Snoop Dogg Snoop Dogg

As the embodiment of '90s gangsta rap, Snoop Dogg blurred the lines between reality and fiction. Introduced to the world through Dr. Dre's The Chronic, Snoop quickly became the most famous star in rap, partially because of his drawled, laconic rhyming and partially because the violence that his lyrics implied seemed real, especially after he was...
