All Points West Music & Arts Festival, set for Aug. 8-10, unveils lineup that also includes Underworld, Kings of Leon, Cat Power, the Roots, and many more.
It's safe to say at this point that Jack Johnson is doing the festival circuit in 2008.
The surfer-crooner has been named as one of the headliners of the new All Points West Music & Arts Festival in New York City, adding to Johnson's other headlining gigs at Coachella and Bonnaroo.
For the three-day event, set for August 8-10 at Liberty State Park, just across the Hudson River from lower Manhattan, Johnson will be joined as headliner by Radiohead, which turned the music industry on its ear in 2007 with the innovative release of its latest album, In Rainbows. Radiohead will actually perform on both the first and second nights of the event, with Johnson headlining on the final evening.
The lineup also features Underworld, Kings of Leon, Cat Power, the Roots, the New Pornographers, Girl Talk, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Youssou N'Dour, Animal Collective, Andrew Bird, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Metric, CSS, Chromeo, the Go! Team, Amadou & Mariam, the Black Angels, Sia, the Felice Brothers, K'Naan, Jason Isbell, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Alberta Cross, the Virgins, Black Kids, Mates of State, Duffy, Forro in the Dark, Nicole Atkins, Juana Molina, Little Brother, Rogue Wave, Neil Halstead, and Your Vegas.
Tickets go on sale February 29. Single-day tickets are $89, while three-day passes will sell for $258. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Friends of Liberty State Park, which is working to make environmentally friendly improvements to the venue.
Attendees can reach the festival via ferry from Manhattan directly to the festival grounds or on New Jersey Transit trains. Special carpool parking will be available as well.
All Points West is the brainchild of Coachella producers AEG Live/Goldenvoice.
