Country star could tie Garth Brooks with fourth-straight win for entertainer of the year; Atkins, Paisley, and Big & Rich also nab multiple nods.

Kenny Chesney may have lost out to Kanye West and 50 Cent in the battle for chart supremacy last September, but he remains the king of country music.

Chesney nabbed a whopping 11 nominations for the 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, including entertainer of the year, top male vocalist, artist, and producer for album of the year for Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates and for single of the year, song of the year, and top video for "Don't Blink."

If Chesney wins entertainer of the year again, which for the first time will be a fan-voted honor, it will be his fourth consecutive win in the category, tying country legend Garth Brooks.

Several other artists received multiple nominations, with Rodney Atkins leading the way with six nominations, including top male vocalist, song, and album. Reigning top male vocalist Brad Paisley, who announced the nominees along with Carrie Underwood from the Country Music Hall of Fame, got four nominations, including entertainer, male vocalist, album, and video.

"This is one of the days where you're glad you got up early," Paisley said in unveiling the nominees on CBS' The Early Show.

Big & Rich received four nominations, including top vocal duo and single, song, and video of the year. John Rich is nominated for a producer and writer award, and Big Kenny Alphin is nominated for two producing awards.

Sugarland was also nominated for four awards, including duo, song single, and video of the year. The duo's Jennifer Nettles received two nominations for writing and producing, and Kristian Bush received one for producing.

Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift nabbed three nominations each, leading all female nominees. Both are up for album of the year.

The 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 18, airing live at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
