Following countless mixtapes and guest slots, New Orleans rapper will release long-delayed album.
He is by far the most ubiquitous rapper on the planet, but Lil Wayne hasn't released a solo album since 2005's Tha Carter II.
That is set to change on May 13, when the New Orleans rapper, who has released several mixtapes and made countless guest appearances on songs by other artists, releases Tha Carter III, the final in the trilogy.
The album is being preceded by its first single, "Lollipop," featuring Static Major and produced by Jim Jonsin. The first two albums in the trilogy have both gone platinum.
Not surprisingly, the album will feature a slew of guest performers, including Kanye West, Hurricane Chris, Corey Gunz, Tyga, Jibbs, Shanell, Kidd Kidd, Mack Maine, and Lil Mama. Alchemist, Swizz Beats, Jonsin, and Cool & Dre are among the producers.
Upcoming Lil Wayne tour dates:
3-28 Philadelphia, PA - Liacouras Center
4-03 Flint, MI - Perani Arena and Event Center
4-04 Rochester, NY - Blue Cross Arena
4-05 Dayton, OH - Hara Arena
4-06 East Lansing, MI - Breslin Center
4-12 Mobile, AL - Mobile Civic Center Arena
4-20 Youngstown, OH - Chevrolet Center
