Doggfather will join party rockers on a 28-date trek of US amphitheaters this summer.

He's been all over the TV in recent months, from his own Father Hood reality show to an emcee stint at Wrestlemania XXIV Sunday night, and now Snoop Dogg is coming to an arena near you.

The Long Beach rapper is teaming up with party rockers 311 for the band's long-running Unity tour. The pair, who will be joined by rock band Fiction Plane, fronted by Sting's son Joe Sumner, will play 28 dates throughout the US. The trek will kick off June 24 at the Dodge Theatre in Phoenix and run through August 3 in Austin, Texas.

311's Unity tour has previously featured support from Matisyahu, Pepper, the Wailers, Particle, the English Beat, and O.A.R. 311 is currently working on its next studio album, tentatively set for a release in 2009.

The band is currently "in the initial writing stage" for the next album, according to a post on its Web site, "so there are no song titles, album title, or release date at this time."

Snoop Dogg will be touring in support of his latest release, Ego Trippin', which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.

311 is one of the better live bands out there. this summer will be my 4th time seeing them, and they have yet to disappoint. they change up their set list every night, and i can guarantee you that snoop will join them on stage for at least one song (like matisyahu did last summer.) trust me: go to one of their shows this summer.

311 was formed in 1990 in Omaha, Nebraska by five self-described "friends for life" (singer/guitarist Nick Hexum, singer S.A. Snoop Dogg Snoop Dogg

As the embodiment of '90s gangsta rap, Snoop Dogg blurred the lines between reality and fiction. Introduced to the world through Dr. Dre's The Chronic, Snoop quickly became the most famous star in rap, partially because of his drawled, laconic rhyming and partially because the violence that his lyrics implied seemed real, especially after he was...

Fiction Plane

Fronted by singer/songwriter Joe Sumner -- who is the adult son of pop/rock superstar and former Police vocalist Sting -- Fiction Plane is a mostly British alternative pop/rock outfit that started to acquire a U.K. following in the early 2000s. The fact that Sumner is Sting's son has inevitably been mentioned quite a bit in the British press,...

The official Fiction Plane bio that MCA's publicity department sent to the media with Everything Will Never Be OK doesn't mention the fact that Joe Sumner, the London-based outfit's lead singer, is the adult son of former Police vocalist Sting--obviously, MCA isn't trying to exploit the Sting connection or market Sumner as "Junior Sting."
