Judas Priest, Heaven and Hell, Testament, and Motorhead to team up for 15-date amphitheater trek.
Heshers rejoice!
Judas Priest will lead a loaded lineup that includes Heaven and Hell, Testament, and Motorhead on the Metal Masters Tour, a 15-date trek of North American amphitheaters.
The tour will kick off August 6 at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, New Jersey, and conclude August 31 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California.
Judas Priest will headline the tour, mixing classics in with tracks from its forthcoming new album, Nostradamus, which hits stores June 17 in the US. Late last week, the makers of the popular music video game Rock Band announced that Nostradamus would be the first-ever full album download offered through the game.
Following its major reunion tour last year, the Heaven & Hell, the renamed band for Black Sabbath during the Ronnie James Dio era, will be touring in support of its five-CD boxed set to be issued July 22 via Rhino, The Rules of Hell.
The box will include remastered versions of all four of the albums Sabbath did with Dio as frontman: 1980's Heaven & Hell, 1981's Mob Rules, 1982's Live Evil, and 1992's Dehumanizer.
Testament, meanwhile, is set to release its first album featuring most of its original lineup since 1992's The Ritual. The Formation of Damnation will hit stores April 29 on Nuclear Blast. Testament will also support Priest on a run of Canadian dates in July.
Motorhead is currently at work at Dave Grohl's studio on its 20th studio album. Last year, they put out a two-disc live album, Better Motorhead Than Dead: Live at Hammersmith, which captures Motorhead's 2005 30th anniversary show in London.
