MTV's Jackass and Viva La Bam star takes his favorite bands on tour to support compilation album.
Bam Margera, the ubiquitous MTV prankster and skateboarder, is adding the music business to his ever-expanding portfolio, putting out a compilation of his favorite bands and now planning to take them on tour in November.
Margera, star of MTV's Jackass and Viva La Bam, unveiled Viva La Bands, a 21-track compilation CD/DVD, in June, featuring such bands as H.I.M., Fireball Ministry, CKY, and Turbonegro. Many of those bands are from Scandinavian countries, and Margera has sought to use his popularity to get the bands more exposure.
Now several of those bands will do a five-show tour of the East Coast together.
Finnish goth-rockers H.I.M. are headlining the tour, which starts November 19 and includes two shows at Philadelphia's Electric Factory. Finch, which is opening for H.I.M. on a nationwide tour, will also be on the Viva La Bands tour, as will Skindred and Fireball Ministry.
In addition to his Viva la Bam TV show on MTV, Margera also has a DVD series, a popular video game franchise, and his ever-expanding line of skateboarding gear.
