Pitchfork fills out fest lineup

Spoon, Silver Jews, Yo La Tengo, Devendra Banhardt, Futureheads, Ted Leo, and Art Brut among the bands playing two-day Chicago festival.

Indie music site Pitchfork filled out the lineup today for its music festival in Chicago's Union Park, with a who's who of both indie icons and emerging artists on the bill.

The Pitchfork Music Festival will feature 38 bands over two days, July 29 and 30. The lineup includes headliners like longtime indie favorites Spoon, Yo La Tengo, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, the National, Mission of Burma, and David Berman's Silver Jews.

The fest will also feature emerging artists like Devendra Banhardt and his band, UK rockers Art Brut, rapper Aesop Rock, and the most active band at South by Southwest this year, Minneapolis' Tapes 'n Tapes.

The lineup also includes Destroyer, Mountain Goats, Band of Horses, Jens Lekman, Man Man, Hot Machines, and Chin Up Chin Up, as well as a host of DJs, with Diplo being the biggest name among them.

Pitchfork said it will continue to add bands to the lineup in the coming weeks.
