Britney changes diaper on floor of Victoria's Secret
How low can she go?
To the floor, apparently.
Just days after saying she is an emotional wreck in an interview with NBC's Matt Lauer, Britney Spears reportedly changed the diaper of her 8-month-old son Sean Preston on the floor of a Victoria's Secret shop in Mission Viejo, California. The pop star reportedly bought some pink G-strings at the store, and when she discovered that she needed to change her son's diaper, she did so on the floor next to the cash register. A shocked sales associate told the New York Daily News, "We don't have the cleanest floors. She just put him down and changed his diaper and then handed it to a sales clerk saying, 'Can you throw this away for us?' We told her that we couldn't put that in our trash." (3:30 p.m.)
Madonna, Lindsay Lohan buddy up
The Material Mom has reportedly taken a liking to America's most well-publicized youth in need of a parent. According to In Touch magazine, Madonna and Lindsay Lohan have struck up a friendship and agreed to work together on music and possibly a film. The pair connected due to their links to Kabbalah, a mystical interpretation of the Jewish Torah.
"They're helping each other," a source told the magazine. "Madonna's giving Lindsay advice on her music career, and she wants to work on a film with Madonna too."
The insider also tells the publication that the pair plan to travel to Israel together once Madonna's Confessions tour is over.(2:30 p.m.)
Jessica Simpson preps first Public Affair single
To kick off the promotion for her upcoming album, Jessica Simpson sports a fiery red hairdo and not much else on the cover of Maxim magazine this week. The album, dubbed A Public Affair, is the singer-actress' first since her very public divorce from ex-98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey, whose What's Left of Me album was released earlier this year.
The album is expected to hit stores August 29, while the single should be in retail and digital stores like iTunes by the end of June.
The video for the song was helmed by X Men: The Last Stand director Brett Ratner.(1:45 p.m.)
Missy Elliott biopic in the works
While biopics about icons like Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin have stalled for decades, a movie about the life of Missy Elliott is moving ahead before her career is even a decade old.
Universal Pictures has signed on for an as-yet-untitled biopic about the like of Miss Misdemeanor, according to Variety, with acclaimed actor Robert De Niro on board to produce through his Tribeca Films, along with Elliott's manager, Mona Scott.
The 34-year-old Elliott will reportedly work with Scott and writer Dianne Houston on the script for the project.(12:30 p.m.)
Jay-Z donates $30k to New York area schools
Def Jam president and New Jersey Nets co-owner Jay-Z is donating $30,000 toward a student essay-writing contest he launched in December for New York-New Jersey area schools. More than 700 students entered the contest, with the six winners each nabbing $5,000 for their schools.
The contest began as part of a rivalry between Jay-Z and Charlotte Bobcats owner Robert Johnson. The first team to reach 80 points in their December 14 game--the Nets won--agreed to pay up.
"It was great to see the students' school spirit in their essays," Jay-Z said in a statement. "They showed they want a well-rounded education in a comfortable environment. I hope that these donations help them to achieve their goals." (11:00 a.m.)
Milian, Def Jam part ways
R&B singer Christina Milian is off Island Def Jam because of creative differences following low sales of her recent album So Amazin'. The singer reportedly declined to record the song "S.O.S.," which was later recorded by Rihanna and turned into a smash hit. Her decision reportedly angered Island Def Jam CEO L.A. Reid, leading to the decision. "Christina Milian and Island Def Jam have decided to end their relationship due to creative differences," a Milian spokesperson said in a statement. "This was a mutual decision."(9:30 a.m.)
