Posthumous album from acclaimed Detroit producer, who died February 10, will feature guest spots from Busta Rhymes, Common, D'Angelo, Pharoah Monche, Madlib, and Dwele.

Like many renowned hip-hoppers who died before their time, J Dilla is going to get an album released of material he worked on before his untimely death in February.

But unlike posthumous releases from rappers like Tupac and Notorious BIG, the acclaimed Dilla produced almost all of the record before his death, making most of the beats from his hospital bed as he battled the Lupus disease to which he eventually succumbed.

The album, dubbed The Shining, will hit stores August 22 via BBE Records. It features Busta Rhymes, Common, D'Angelo, Pharoah Monche, Madlib, and Dwele, and was executive-produced by longtime friend and collaborator Karriem Riggins.

"All the artists that contributed to this project Dilla considered family," Riggins said in a statement. "And when the world hears it, they will see that the love bleeds through the music."

J Dilla, also known as Jay Dee, was a founding member of Detroit hip-hop group Slum Village and was also part of The Ummah, the production house founded by Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest. Dilla was one of hip-hop's most prolific producers, providing beats for most of the artists in the Native Tongues and Soulquarian camps, including Common, D'Angelo, Erykah Badu, A Tribe Called Quest, and The Roots, as well as more mainstream artists like Janet Jackson, Macy Gray, and Busta Rhymes.

The Shining follows 2005's Donuts, a collection of Dilla's instrumental beats, and his 2001 solo debut, Welcome 2 Detroit. The Shining will be accompanied by a tribute DVD, produced by Brian "B. Kyle" Atkins of Okayplayer Films.

This is probably my most highly anticipated album this year. "Donuts" was orgasmic.
