Dave Navarro, Carmen Electra call it quits
Neither one of them died, but Dave Navarro and Carmen Electra are indeed parting ways.
The former stars of the reality show 'Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen and Dave, which documented the lead-up to their marriage in 2004, announced yesterday their plans to "amicably" separate, the former Baywatch actress' publicist said.
No details were spilled as to why the stars decided to break up--and the split comes despite Electra's kind words about Navarro--a former guitarist for Jane's Addiction and the Red Hot Chili Peppers--at the ESPY Awards last week.
"He is really good... It's easy when you know we are both going home to the same place," she said at the July 12 show in Los Angeles. "We have been together for six years now so we are used to having time apart."
After meeting on a blind date and falling in "love at first sight," according to the Associated Press, Electra and Navarro took their relationship public when they began their ill-fated MTV reality show in 2003.
Kid Rock, Pamela Anderson relight their fire
As one ex-Baywatch star's union falls apart, another's has been rekindled.
Despite breaking up in 2003, Pamela Anderson and rap-rocker Kid Rock have not only gotten back together--they're getting married in 11 days, according to Us Weekly.
On her Web site, Anderson, 39, alludes to past failed relationships via a stream-of-consciousness entry, dated today.
"Yes. I'm finally getting remarried...it's been a whirlwind...spontaneous but well thought through," she wrote. "I've raised my kids alone in hope of a miracle. Well my miracle came and went. And came back and came back because he knew that I'd wake up one day and realize that I was waiting for nothing."
The couple will be married in St. Tropez, and Anderson recently celebrated her birthday and traveled to the city, where life was "wonderful." "I'm in a very romantic mood," she wrote.
Anderson starred on Baywatch during the 1990s, and she already has two sons from a previous marriage with ex-Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee.
Idol country girl Kellie Pickler lands label
The American Idol record label can't seem to stop attracting former contestants. Kellie Pickler announced yesterday that she would join the label, in a joint deal with Sony's country label BNA Records, located in Nashville, Tennessee.
"I'm really excited about making my first album and giving something back to the fans who supported me on American Idol," the 20-year-old Pickler said.
"The recognition she received from Idol is a huge advantage in launching a new artist," said Sony BMG Chairman Joe Galante. "It's not very often when someone with that personality and talent comes along and she will bring instant attention to her music and our format."
Last week, fourth runner-up Chris Daughtry signed a deal with RCA Records' 19 Recordings Unlimited, the label managed by Idol creator Simon Fuller. Winner Taylor Hicks and runner-up Katharine McPhee are also on 19 Recordings Unlimited.
UK star Kylie Minogue returns from cancer battle
Since she was diagnosed in May 2005, Kylie Minogue has fought and defeated breast cancer. Now the British pop star is planning her first concert dates since facing the disease.
The Wembley Arena in London will see two dates on January 2 and 3 from Minogue, who is headlining under her Showgirl Homecoming tour. The tour also will see a series of dates in Australia starting November 11.
